Louis Vuitton Plans Temporary and Permanent Design District Stores

Other than the release of the iPhone 5, this is probably the best news I heard all week. Yes, its confirmed.  Louis Vuitton announced a Pop up store located in the Design District opening October 19th, with a permanent location that will replace the Pop up store in 2014. the location will be presented with a mural designed by street artist RETNA. Below is an article from Miami.com detailing the exciting news.

“It is an honor to work with Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton has a deep appreciation for art and the creative process,” RETNA says. “Using their store’s exterior as a canvas for street art is exceptional and truly inspiring for me as an artist.” This is the first time Louis Vuitton will have an artist create an original work on the façade of one of its North American stores. In his unique and prolific style, RETNA will create a work of art adding a distinctive vibrancy to the community.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with RETNA, an artist whose work blurs the lines between beauty and edge,” Valérie Chapoulaud-Floquet, President and Chief Executive Officer of Louis Vuitton North America says. “Our close relationship with the world of the art is central to the Maison’s heritage. The Design District, an area pulsing with artistic, innovative and creative energy, is a natural home for Louis Vuitton and we look forward to sharing RETNA’S extraordinary work with the neighborhood.”
