The Sneakergame is dying and there is no saving it now...

It seems that the Sneakergame isn't quite much what it use to be... who can forget those cold thursday mornings outside Niketown sunset place waiting for the Grape Air Jordan retro 5's yes I said it Thursday even tho they released on a Saturday morning... that was called dedication... We would call in sick to school and had our parents sign " I was sick" note for your attendance or those who worked used the whole "I have a stomach virus" excuse always worked but at the end of the day it all paid off... they had there pair of Air Jordans... No one had that mentality of ama cop 4 shoes to flip... (The term "Flip" means to make money off of, usually meaning asking for at least a 70% percent raise on retail price of shoe... as for the term "Cop" means to buy to purchase) the real so called "Sneakerhead" before the hypebeast got a hold of the term... one would think buy one to rock and another to stock...was the slogan we went by... but it seems the sneakergame isn't about that anymore...

The sneakergame is more of a fashion trend now... a call for a desperate act... kids which self esteem is dead shit and want to be cool.... and try reenacting how your so called "sneaker head" dresses... ( A snapback, a gshock, a stussy or boutique like shirt, with cargos, mid top socks, and your Nike SB, Jordan, Nike retros, or classics like Fila, Reebok, or LA Gears).. it seems that they use it as a way of getting laid... which is quite embarrassing... but the hypebeast has almost become like clones of those actual collectors that like keeping there sneaker collections on the low... so you can't tell the difference anymore from the mellow laid back dude from the actual pretender... sad to say their is no more creativity anymore... people are scared to be themselves...

I remember it use to take us at least 4 months to get the shoe we always wanted which back then would be a brand new pair of Olympic 7's or Royal Blue Foamposite. So for those who had "Heat" in their collections is because they earned it... endless nights and days of not eating school lunch saving up your lunch money.. waiting for that raw ass clock to hit 3:40pm so you take that bus home and destroy anything that was in that fridge at the time... unlike most of these young kids that range from 8 to 17 year olds that ask there parents for 300 dollars and get it without even having to beg.... how do you think the kid that worked endless pay checks and saving up money to get a pair of..... let's say Nike Air Yeezys... which easily run for 500 dollars if you weren't able to get your hands on them when they released.. feels when he see's a 12 year old wearing them in the mall the same day he is...? he feels like a fail!

Don't get me started on what has happened to DunkXchange.... I'll never forget my first dunkxchange experience... Fat Joe was out there having a good time with the sole collectors... you saw everything from Air Jordan retro Undefeated 4s to Reebok Allen Iverson Undefeated Questions... and everyone knew each other it was like one big family... Who can forget OG heads like "Sam Gargit" aka "SB" known for having his Nike SB game on lock R.I.P.... It seems like the Sneaker community died with him... Jen Jen with the NYC pigeon nike SB in her prime before she became ticket seller at DXC... or D-LA with everything you can think of.... compared to now... 12 year old walking with extinct Dinos jajajaja I'm talking super beat asking for 200 dollars and they dont even have alternate laces nor original box... like come on... People pushing fakes like crazy.... God DAMMIT I've never seen so many fake freddy's in my life... I remember back in the days seeing a pair of Freddys was like seeing Jesus in the flesh! No one knows shit out there about sneakers... why you think gary gave up with sneaker battles... people were battling with general release sneakers.... Little kids acting like there harder than Tupac himself starting shit with others.... If you heard I fought at octobers DXC in club Opium... Those people i thought were real supporters were only fakes... i think out of the 864 people following us on the facebook page only 7 came up to me letting me know i was born an artist not a boxer to let it go... this fight made me realize this is no longer my crowd... no longer my age group.... and no longer the passion I once had... I will no longer be going to DXC...

Air Jordan seems to have no remorse for the sneaker community reretroing everything that has ever come out and fucking up future potential colorways... and I see the same coming soon from Nike SB when they start running out of Ideas...

I now realize what Sam was trying to tell me back then in the good old days... "Get out while you still can".... be who want to be... be a trend settler not a follower... followers are not remembered in history... start your own history... remember it's His- story.... don't be scared what others say... there is nothing more beautiful than being real and original...

the fact that this whole story is 100% true pains me. Its hard to know that now to some people a sneaker head is having 2010 release everything or fusions. The game isnt what it used to be.
